Mr. Joshua Ofedie is a Partner of AEA and brings to the firm over 30 years of power utility experience.

Prior to joining AEA, Joshua was the Chief Executive of Volta River Authority (VRA). In other senior positions he occupied, Joshua managed the finances of VRA, provided strategic direction and supervision of activities of the finance, accounts, power sales and investment departments. He was also responsible for the mobilization of funds for projects, the management of international power exchange agreements and stakeholder relationships including governments, utilities, service providers, and lenders. Joshua was the financial lead for the mobilisation of US$ 300 million for Ghana’s first thermal power plant, before then, all of Ghana’s power generation had been from hydro sources.

After leaving VRA, Joshua joined KRON Finance and Investment firm as the Executive Director during which period he worked on a number of power projects for the World Bank and West African Power Pool (WAPP).

Joshua’s expertise is in financial management and modelling, project optimization studies, financial and economic appraisal of projects, as well as tariff formulation and negotiation of power purchase agreements.

Mr. Joshua Ofedie holds an MPA Public Finance/Macroeconomics from Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA; an MBA in Corporate Finance and Business Administration from University of Ghana, Legon and a B.Sc. (Hons) Statistics with Mathematics also from University of Ghana, Legon.
